About our 24 Hour Service

The 24-Hour Service is a Day and Night Duty Service that will provide the Client with 2 Dewcare Carers which will rotate every 12 hours.

The Night Shift duties are:

Getting the Client ready for Bed

 

Attending to every need of the Client during the night

(toilet/water/medication)

Checking that a client has taken their medication

 

Checking on the Safety of the Client during the night.

 

Night Duty Carers can rest a few hours if the Client is comfortable and asleep.

 

During the 12 Hour daytime shift the client can be assisted with some of the following services:

Shower/bed wash the client

 

Wash and dry Clients hair

 

Help Client to get dressed

 

Making the Client’s bed

 

Preparing light meals (breakfast/lunch or supper)

 

Checking a client has taking their medication

 

Prepare a snack for tea time (mid-morning or afternoon)

 

Afternoon nap

 

An accompanied walk in the vicinity

 

Bringing in and sorting of the post

 

Building puzzles

 

Caring for house plants

 

Helping with letter writing/correspondence

 

Just being present for a friendly conversation over a cup of tea/coffee

 

Listening to an audio book or reading a book together

 

Monitoring home safety

 

Peeling, chopping of vegetables/fruit

 

Playing board games

 

Sharing stories, memories and experiences

 

Taking out the garbage

 

Watching a movie together

 

Doing emergency washing (pajamas and underware)

 

Body care – hands and feet (nail maintenance)

 

*Light housekeeping

 

*Light housekeeping services include vacuuming, dusting, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning kitchen and taking out garbage.
