Dewcare: Care Rooted in Family, Grown in Community
When Mandie first arrived in Hermanus in 2014, she saw more than a seaside town — she saw a community longing for reliable, trustworthy care for its elders. Families were juggling busy lives, and while love was abundant, time was scarce. Mandie stepped in, offering her hands, her heart, and her vision.
From those humble beginnings, where Mandie carried out most of the caregiving herself, her sister Amelia soon joined her side. With her sharp eye for administration and finance, Amelia gave the growing business its backbone and stability.
Not long after, Amelia’s son Dylan stepped in to carry the vision forward. Focused on business development, systems, and general management, Dylan brought structure and innovation to match the heart at Dewcare’s core. His role ensures that compassion is supported by clear processes, empowering carers and clients alike.
Today, Dewcare is a thriving, family-run business powered by an 80-strong team of caregivers and support staff. More than a service, Dewcare is an extension of family — stepping in when loved ones can’t, and offering peace of mind to everyone involved.
At Dewcare, care is personal. Every visit is one-on-one, every interaction rooted in dignity, kindness, and excellence. Whether it’s companionship, daily assistance, or simply being a friendly face at the right time, we believe that having someone loving by your side makes all the difference.

Mandie is the heart from which Dewcare grew. What began as one woman offering her time, compassion, and steady presence has become a trusted care service woven into the Hermanus community. Her instinct for dignity, kindness, and genuine connection shaped the culture that still defines Dewcare today. Mandie’s legacy lives in every carer who carries her standard of care forward.

Amelia is the steady, detail‑driven mind behind Dewcare’s financial and people operations. With her meticulous approach and deep sense of responsibility, she ensures that every rand is accounted for and every team member is supported with fairness and clarity. From payroll to policies, contracts to compliance, Amelia brings structure and consistency to the heart of the business — keeping Dewcare grounded, organised, and ready to grow.

General Manager
Dylan carries the family vision into the future with intention and innovation. Focused on systems, structure, and sustainable growth, he oversees business development, operations, and general management. His leadership blends practicality with purpose, ensuring Dewcare’s compassion is supported by clear processes and a strong, supportive environment for both carers and clients.

Precise, meticulous, and unwaveringly loyal, Lucette is the quiet guardian of Dewcare’s financial health. Her careful eye ensures that nothing is overlooked, and her dedication brings stability and trust to the business. With Lucette at the helm of finance, every detail is accounted for.

Field Coordinator
As the nexus between office and field operations, Lidia keeps everything moving smoothly. She ensures carers know where they need to be and when, while offering on-the-ground support in a client-facing role. Calm under pressure and friendly by nature, she is both a steady anchor in challenges and a favourite among clients and carers alike.

Michelle is the voice of advocacy and the embodiment of uncompromising care. With her no-nonsense approach, she ensures clients receive the best possible support — never settling for less. She champions those who cannot speak for themselves and has made an immeasurable impact on the wellbeing and quality of life of our clients.
Sandra
Registered Nurse
Sister Sandy brings extensive clinical experience shaped by her work in heli‑ops and cruise‑ship medical environments, where calm precision and rapid decision‑making are essential. At Dewcare, she partners with Sister Michelle to support all medical and wellness‑related needs in the field, ensuring clients receive attentive, compassionate, and professional care. Her steady presence and diverse expertise strengthen our nursing support and enhance the quality of care across the Dewcare community.
